Description

These Records were found when helping a friend clear out a store cupboard. From my research they were purchased around 1970 so forgive them as they are getting on in years being nearly 50 years old!! They show some signs of their age but the actual records do appear to be in decent condition. Please see Photos! I have not played any of the records myself so cannot give an actual description of the quality when played. The covers show their age in places & most of the inner sleeves have seen better days. I don’t know if all the inner sleeves are original! I have researched each Vinyl on discogs.co.uk & believe the description to be an accurate representation of the Vinyl LP. I understand that Older Vinyl albums can be very collectible & discogs gives guide prices, so I feel all are fairly priced.

  • Fourth pressing, October 1970 – spring 1971.
  • These pressings do NOT have the "Sold in the U.K." text on the labels
  • Sleeve was changed by this point:
  • -Full laminated white gatefold cover without flap-overs and has openings at the sides.
  • -Front of the cover has “The BEATLES” embossed in raised block letters.
  • -The printed number "N°" and 6 digits appear in gray on a slight downward angle towards the lower right corner. 6-digit number does not contain a “0” before the numbers. Such numbered sleeves used until 1973 and possibly later. Some copies of the covers without number on the front. 
  • -Both mono and stereo cat #s are on the spine: "Stereo PCS 7067-8" and "Mono PMC 7067-8"
  • -The back is completely blank. No "Stereo" text
LABEL DIFFERENTIATION:
  • -Record 1 has a dark green labels with “An E.M.I. Recording” text on one line. Record 2 has a dark green labels with “An E.M.I. Recording” text on two lines in quotations and parentheses. (see photos)
  • -Publishing year printed with upper case P copyright symbol ?. Without KT tax code. 
  • -Matrix numbers typically: Side 1: YEX 709-1; Side 2: YEX 710-1; Side 3: YEX 711-1; Side 4: YEX 712-1. On any of the four sides can be met numbers 1 or 2. All possible combinations.
  • The discs were housed in white Apple "IMPORTANT NOTICE" company inner sleeves. (INCLUDED)
  • Came with the 4 glossy John Kelly photographs (NOT INCLUDED) and double-sided, fold-out lyric/collage poster. (INCLUDED)
