Description
For sale is The Beatles' Revolver, originally released in 1969 on Apple Records and reissued in 1971 by Apple Records with the Apple label with "MFD. by Apple Records, Inc." on the bottom of the Apple label and the King Features Syndicate designation on the front cover. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is etched the matrix numbers H-30/H-30, followed by what appears to be a tipped over martini glass. This "glass" actually represents a Winchester rifle. These etchings indicates that an early stamper was used to make this record and was pressed at Capitol Record's Winchester, Virginia plant. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering that produce superior sound, sought after by collectors and music lovers throughout the world. I bought this new, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17, then immediately put the record into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. There is no original inner sleeve with this listing. The cover is graded as VG+ because of ring wear, corner blunts, edge rubs and small stress cracks along the spine. The spine has a little color loss from these stress cracks. The vinyl is visually graded as VG+ because of faint sleeve marks and surface scratches. It's play-graded as VG- because side two has occasional ticking along with some surface noise. Side one is closer to Near Mint, but play graded as Excellent because of low level surface noise, most noticeable during quiet sections. This is still one of the best copies of this album that I have seen or heard and you would be hard pressed to find one in this condition. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection.
