“YESTERDAY AND TODAY” LP by the Beatles

This LP is Capitol Records T 2553.

This LP is a MONO (Monaural) Pressing which is designated by the letter “T” that precedes the catalog number on both the cover and the labels.

This LP was issued June 20, 1966.

This is the “Trunk Cover” that replaced the infamous “Butcher Cover”. This is NOT a Second State (paste over) “Butcher Cover”.

The COVER has the number “3” printed on the rear cover at lower right corner. This identifies that that the cover was issued from Capitol Records’ Scranton pressing plant.

The VINYL has the “?” with “IAM” inside it in the trail-off wax. This is the symbol Capitol Records used to identify vinyl pressed at its Scranton Pressing Plant.

THEREFORE, this cover and vinyl are correctly paired. They were both issued from the same Capitol pressing plant.

NOTE: Some sellers may intentionally or accidentally switch vinyl and covers in order to create an LP with a higher grade cover and vinyl, but NOT correctly matched to the same pressing plant. I don’t do that. This is the correct cover and vinyl for this pressing/issue.

As you know, this PRIMARILY WHITE COVER has always been very prone to show even the slightest bit of wear and a difficult cover to find in NICE, CLEAN and WHITE, CONDITION without wear, staining, or soiling. As you can see, this cover is quite clean. (Check the Images)

The COVER is in VG+ CONDITION. There are NO seam splits, NO cracking, NO flaking and NO ring wear. There is very light/slight corner wear and a very small “bump” on the rear cover midway on the opening. The remnants of a name written in black marker is at the top of the rear cover. There is some light aging/foxing on the edge of the front cover at the opening and on the rear cover at the edges.

The VINYL is in NICE VG CONDITION with very light/slight surface hairlines/scuffs (none “feel-able”) and and LOTS OF GLOSS!

This LP comes with its ORANGE CAPITOL RECORDS INNER PAPER SLEEVE which is the correct sleeve for this Capitol vinyl issue.
Due to its primarily white cover, it’s become a really tough LP cover to find in this CLEAN condition.

These grades are Poor (P), Fair (F), Good Minus (G-), Good (G), Good+ (G+), Very Good Minus (VG-), Very Good (VG), Very Good+ (VG+), Near Mint Minus or Very Good++ (NM- or VG++), Near Mint (NM), Mint Minus (M-), and Mint (M or MT) to VISUALLY grade this LP, so please know the descriptions of these grades before bidding.
