Description
The Beatles / Yesterday and Today
(These mono's have a nice centered bass punch, recommended!)
Due to high British pressing standards, all UK Beatles albums had seven songs a side.
No American albums at the time could do more then five or six, but it's best that way,
Capitol had a way of producing and mastering them uniform to all their artists, and they sound great!
A mix of singles and extra album tracks comprise this smash American Beatles release,
But the Beatles themselves did not create the album. When asked for a cover photo, Capitol Records
got a little prank pulled on them by the Beatles for treating their music like "chopped meat",
thus the famous "Butcher" jacket. (Uh-oh! quick! get another picture to paste over that thing!)
Of course these "paste over" issues are highly valued as collectible as well,
because they are the second early pressing run.
Still in prank mode, this "red eye" photo (called the "trunk jacket") was deemed an appropriate replacement for the famous "butcher" photo. The record below was manufactured shortly after, (1965)
before the issue with the gold record award emblem was added to the jacket.

that dates this copy's manufacture, 1965
the record is in VG++ (excellent) condition
(audio reviewed, a really nice player that's been well cared for! please see photos)
the jacket is in VG condition
(no cut marks, or seam splits, has stain on top front, please see additional photo,
bottom is torn in what was probably a 60's attempt to see if it's a paste over Butcher,
please see additional photo, previous owner's signature on back, corner wear, sticker mark)
