I'm told this is a first press type 1, there are a few typos on the label. On another web-site its valued to over £200
This is an original copy of The Beatles second album, with a lot of early Beatles classics, 7 Lennon and McCartney compositions, and the first recorded composition by George – Don’t Bother Me. Ringo sings the Stones’ hit single, I Wanna be Your Man. Following on from first album, the final track is John shouting out Money. An incredible album, not so well known as what was to come a few years later, but not to be missed.
I bought this when it came out in 1964, The front cover is fine for its age, rear of cover is a bit delaminated at the top right corner, and a bit worn along the bottom where it folds over from front, some discolouring through age, but nowhere near as dark as the picture shows
I hadn’t played this for 50 years, there are a few crackles, but I was amazed how good it sounds through my Naim/PMC system, even though I played it at the time. All my records are sent out with a proper mailer, with insurance and signed for delivery. Its the insurance that increases the postage cost.
