With The Beatles

Yellow and black parlaphone PMC1206

With the Rarer "Ernest J Day & Co Ltd" record sleeve

the matrix, Mother and stamper details will be of use to collectors of Beatles albums

they are as follows:

Side 1: The Mother is 3...The Matrix is XEX447-5N:The Stamper is TL

Side 2: Mother is 1...The Matrix is XEX 448-6N...The Stamper is TG

a bit more information

 there is a Mother created for each side of the album from the origonal studio master Disc(the lower the mother number the Better)then stampers are created from the Mothers and the records that we listen to are made from the Stampers, the letters of the stampers relate to a number code..in all cases lower numbers are better, it is not uncommon for mothers to be in double numbers and stampers to be in triple figures as beatles albums were created in such vast amounts.

in this case this record side 1 was created by the 89th Stamper which was created fron the 3rd mother and side 2 was created by the 91 stamper created from the 1st Mother..this all goes to show that his copy should in theory sound better than a later copy, because the Mothers do start to wear out...and I can vouch that it sounds amazing.

you will also notice that this copy has a rather rare 6N matrix number on the second side it is much more common to have a 5N or 7N on side 2

Condition of record: EX+

Both sides show extremely light marks when viewed under bright light more on side two than on one.

when viewed in normal light the records appear very clean and shiny..there are still marks evident but they are very superficial and few and far between

The record plays through beautifully..its such a great find when you come across a really well looked after beatles album especially as its now 47 years old

The origonal Emitex inner sleeve is present and complete but does have a thin piece of sellotape down one seam

Condition of labels: EX+

a small amount of light spindle wear is evident...but barely noticable

labels are shiny and Clean. side 1 label shows the KT tax code.

Condition of Record Sleeve:EX+

the only wear evident on this cover is mild and superficial

the back is actually just off White and rather clean,the front is shiny and damage free..the spine is strong and readable and the edges are free from damage.

because the backs are not laminated, 90% of these kind of sleeves are really very dirty and worn from decades of handling

In conclusion-this is a very fine example of With the beatles and will make a superb addition for any beatles record collector

it is definately a keeper...you wont be looking to replace this copy in a hurry

"MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
