Description

I have smashed my car, run up bills and now want to get married - so I'm having a huge cleanout. Some rare stuff is coming up for sale along with some not so rare stuff so please check my other auctions - I need all the cash I can get at the moment!!!

This auction is for a copy of 'Barry Gibb And The Bee Gees - I Was a Lover, A Leader Of Men' b/w 'And The Children Laughing', Australian pressing on Leedon Records LK-1150. Both of these tracks were taken off their first LP released in 1965 (itself very collectable). However the singles from the LP never turn up either so here is a chance to get something special.

Listening to this record now, there is no way you can tell me that these guys weren't ahead of their time when this was released. The heavy reverb and echo predates some of the so-called 'Classic Psych' tracks by bands such as Pink Floyd, The Tickle etc.. by 2-3 years. The labels also boast 'Featuring the Farfisa Portable Electric Organ'. Who cares? This is a lovely piece of memorabilia - such a strange record from a band who would later go on to having such huge success. I have only ever seen it come up once before so bid while you can! GRADINGS-

SLEEVE: VG+ (Leedon brown paper company sleeve - light wear only)

RECORD: Side one - G to VG (there are maybe 2 or 3 bad looking marks on the record but it plays through fine with only a click heard occasionaly. There is no heavy wear on this side, just a bit of light wear and crackle. The previous owner was someone who although didn't beat it up, didn't take overally good care of it either. Nothing too serious.)

Side two - VG (Better than side one with only light wear and crackle present. Nothing too serious).

Thanks for checking this out - again let me stress that this record is rare. Get it while you can as you probably won't see one for a while yet. Once they are sold they go straight into collectors hands and never leave!
