Description
Offered is an extremely rare SIGNED copy of The Birthday Party, Prayers On Fire, 1981 UK first pressing, 4AD CAD 104.
I am the second owner of this record. When acquired it was said to have come from the collection of a former DJ at the 9:30 Club, Washington DC, and the record was signed on April 10, 1983, where The Birthday Party played their final U.S. show.
The sleeve is signed by Nick Cave on the front (huge signature, over 5" long), and Rowland S. Howard, Tracy Pew, and Mick Harvey on the back. Nick, Rowland, and Tracey are done in ballpoint pen with some slight smudges here and there. Nick practically carved into the sleeve with the pen to nice effect. Mick's signature on the back was signed with sharpie (probably) and has since wiped off, leaving a ghost print of his signature.
Sleeve condition: Overall good, with corner bumps and general wear to spine and opening.
Vinyl condition: VG+, actually looks as if it hasn't been played much. Only a couple of light marks.
Complete with original inner lyric sleeve, which has a small split on the spine.
