The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion is the second album by the American  blues-rock group The Black Crowes, released on May 12, 1992. It was the first record by the band to feature Marc Ford on lead guitar, replacing Jeff Cease, who was fired the year before.  It features four hit singles; Remedy (#1 on the Album Rock Tracks chart for 11 weeks), Thorn in My Pride (#1 on the Album Rock Tracks chart for four weeks), Sting Me (#1 on the Album Rock Tracks chart for two weeks), and Hotel Illness (#1 on the Album Rock Tracks chart for six weeks). It was a record for an album to feature four album rock number-one hits (previously set by Tom Petty in 1989, with three). The album itself reached the top spot of the Billboard 200 album chart, propelled by the success of these singles.

In 2006, the album was ranked number 100 on Guitar World magazine's list of the greatest 100 guitar albums of all time.

This is an immaculate example of the album.  The vinyl is virtually unmarked and still has a fantastic sheen. A couple of sleeve scuffs do not sound.  Album plays and sounds great.  Amazing condition for its age, you will be hard pushed to find one in this condition anywhere.  The outer sleeve is immaculate, still in the plastic wrap. The printed inner sleeve is  pristine.

I have rarely seen one in better condition.

RECORD QUALITY

Albums are cleaned first and then played on my Technics SLQ-200 deck through a Technics SU-610 amp.  I grade according to sight and sound.  I believe my grading to be fair, if you disagree when you receive your LP, please contact me.

Mint - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.

Excellent - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality.

Very Good - The record has obviously been played, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.

Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and scratches.

Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, it may even jump.

Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc

Bad - The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.

MINT – The cover and extra items – lyric sheet, poster, booklet etc are in perfect condition.

EXCELLENT – The cover and the packaging may have slight wear and tear or creasing 

V.GOOD – Normal wear and tear – no major defects.

 GOOD –The cover shows signs of scuffing, splits or discoloration.

FAIR – The cover or contents are torn, stained or defaced.

 POOR –The cover is badly damaged or partly missing
