Description
Limited-edition Smokey Colored Vinyl 2LP pressing of Delta Kream, released in 2021 on Nonesuch / Easy Eye Sound. This is the Indie Retail Exclusive edition, pressed in Germany and complete with the original “Exclusive Colored Vinyl” hype sticker on the shrink.
Delta Kream takes The Black Keys straight back to the Mississippi Hill Country blues that helped shape their sound. Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney recorded the album at Easy Eye Sound in Nashville with Kenny Brown and Eric Deaton, musicians with deep connections to the music of R.L. Burnside and Junior Kimbrough.
The 11-track album digs into songs associated with John Lee Hooker, R.L. Burnside and Junior Kimbrough, including “Crawling Kingsnake,” “Going Down South,” “Do the Romp,” “Stay All Night,” “Coal Black Mattie” and “Sad Days, Lonely Nights.”
This limited pressing is especially striking: two translucent smoky-gray LPs with dramatic black marbling, with the individual patterns giving the records a unique visual character.
