Description
Hello and welcome to my listing for this original first edition LP, the first to be issued on the Linn Records label from 1984. It’s a first edition copy of the debut album by Glasgow’s own The Blue Nile.
My listings are play-graded with a full description of what I hear. I know what's important to you as a vinyl fanatic, and I won't shy away from telling you about any defects I find.
Format: LP
Disc Size & Speed: 12 inch 33 1/3 rpm
Cover Type: Smooth thin card, with a glossy finish.
Cover Condition: The front and rear faces are clean with some creasing. Imprints from the disc are visible, but haven’t developed into ringwear yet. There’s a small patch of edge wear in the centre of the top edge. The spine is fine and the printing is legible.
Inner Sleeves: Plain white paper inner sleeve, creased.
Insert (if applicable): N/A
Cat No LKH 1, bothe sides etched “Red Jimmy Viii”
Record Warpage: none
Play Area Visual Condition: Both sides are clean with no marks.
Label Condition: Both labels are clean with no spindle marks. There are smudges on both sides, which are only visible when viewed from an angle.
Playback Comments: The story goes that Linn Products, being the manufacturer of the LP12 hifi turntable, wanted to create some records that would be worthy of their deck. I think it’s fair to say they succeeded. This is a very nice record indeed with great definition and a wide dynamic range.
Both sides play almost perfectly. I listened on headphones and there is a low-level repetitive click for the first 30 seconds of Rags to Riches.There are no skips or sticks, or evidence of inner groove damage.

The LP will be packaged in a cruciform mailer, the disc packed outside the sleeve (so as not to cause sleeve damage).
