Fantastic debut LP from the Glasgow, Scotland 3 member The Blue Nile. Moody, ethereal seven track full length featuring the singles Stay and Tinseltown In The Rain. I was lucky enough to see the video for Stay on MTV's 120 Minutes when it was released and pick up the album which is an all time favorite for a beautiful quiet listen. Record plays really nice, but the sleeve has signs of wear especially on the corners as seen in the photos. This copy is a gold stamped promo (on bottom right rear) with original hype sticker on the front upper right. Translucent brown when held up to a bright light. It has a killer 3 piece press kit: a two sided information sheet, 8 X 10 Publicity photo, and customized envelope to hold the two. I also owned a US promo copy of Stay that came with the photo and info sheet but not the envelope, so I imagine this is pretty rare. The band's first single was released on RSO which folded shortly after that 7" release, and Linn Records picked them up in the UK, and was manufactured by A&M here in the US where they barely made a dent in the market. Sad but true BUT thank heavens Britain, Europe, and a number of influential critics spread the word about this phenomenal band. Combine auction wins to save on shipping; up to 6 records for $5. Best way to buy multiply items is to put them in your cart (on laptop) and hit the upper right "request total from seller" before paying. If that doesn't work, I will gladly refund any over payment of shipping. Buyer pays for media shipping charges. International shipping generally costs quite a bit more.
