The Blues Brothers wurden 1976 von Dan Aykroyd und dem verstorbenen großen John Belushi für einen SNL-Sketch gegründet. 1980 tat sich der erfolgreiche Filmemacher John Landis mit dem Duo zusammen, um den Musical-Comedy-Klassiker The Blues Brothers zu drehen.
Mit der Hilfe von Musikkoryphäen wie Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin und James Brown erzielte das Outfit einen weiteren Karriere-Meilenstein mit einem Smash-Film und einem ausgelassenen Soundtrack.
The Blues Brothers: Original Soundtrack Recording produzierte das Top-20-Single-Remake von „Gimme Some Lovin“ der Spencer Davis Group und beherbergt weitere Highlights wie „Old Landmark“ von Brown and the Reverend James Cleveland Choir, Arethas „Think“ und Cab Calloways „ Minnie der Moocher."
