Description
You're bidding on The Bobby Timmons Trio "In Person" Recorded Live at The Village Vanguard in 1961 (with Ron Carter and Tootie Heath) 45rpm Original Master Lacquers which were cut master tapes under Classic Records supervision for Alto in Germany for the LP reissue with only one set (2 of 2 this one is) of lacquers (1 per LP side-4 sides: A1, A2, B1, B2 cut.
One of a kind original master lacquers cut from the original master tapes and used by Classic Records to produce stampers that pressed their vinyl reissues. Here is how it works: In real time the master tape was running along with the cutting lathe cutting the groove modulations in the master lacquers. The master was then electroplated and produced a Master plate used ultimately to make stampers that press vinyl records. Once the master lacquer has made its meta diameter, nitro cellulose-coated aluminum disc that the LP mastering engineer "cuts" with a heated stylus assembly from either the master tape. Lacquers are very fragile as the nitro cellulose is a very fragile material. The master lacquer of a Classic Records title offers the ultimate collectible for the collector as usually only one or 2 sets per title were ever released. For these special editions, the master lacquers have been trimmed down from 14" to 12" in diameter so that the record can be played on any modern turntable. Each disc is single sided and perfectly flat for playback sound that is nothing short of breathtaking. Each set is packaged in its own custom box and sealed and numbered to preserve their collectability.
This set is packaged in a white special edition box and each lacquer comes in a white jacket.
ULTRA RARE item numbered to only 2, see the photos above...Good Luck!! I will entertain offers, however if the offer is not relevant, I will not respond. An item that is numbered to only 2 is not something a $10 or $20 dollar offer is appropriate, and we all know that is right. Bobby Timmons, Ron Carter and Tootie Heath are the players, the music was recorded in October of 1961 live in NYC.
