"The Boy Hairdressers Golden Shower is a rare 1987 3-track 12" vinyl single on the collectable 53rd and 3rd label featuring a pre-Teenage Fanclub Norman Blake, Raymond McGinley and Francis MacDonald, with Joe McAlinden and Jim Lambie.
This release is a prototype of the sound that Teenage Fanclub were to become well known for, with soaring melodies and Big Star-style slabs of melancholic beauty.
A superb rarity for any Indie Pop collector or Teenage Fanclub completist - something for everyone! Copies of this rare release change hands for around £50"
The item listed here is even rarer than the release described above, as this is one of only twenty-five test pressings made, and has been owned by Duglas T. Stewart of BMX Bandits for over twenty-three years before donating it to be auctioned for Cancer Research in memory of Tom O'Grady.
