The Boys Next Door: The Birthday Party LP, Vinyl, Missing Link, 1982
The Boys Next Door were The Birthday Party, before they moved to London.
The Birthday Party were an Australian post-punk band fronted by Nick Cave, active from 1978 to 1983.
Their influence has been far-reaching, and they have been called "one of the darkest and most challenging post-punk groups to emerge in the early '80s." The group's "bleak and noisy soundscapes," drew irreverently on blues, free jazz, and rockabilly.
This LP was recorded August/September 1979 and January/February 1980.
Originally released in 1980 as The Boys Next Door.
This is the re-leased LP from 1982, "The Birthday Party" was available on Import only in the UK.
The Matrix / Runout number is: MX 201709 LINK 7-2
