The Bread and Beer Band-Dick Barton theme 7" Single on the Decca label (F 13354) Released 1969.Vinyl Very good condition.Company sleeve.
In early 1969, Elton John (then known by his given name of Reg Dwight) and friends formed a band known as The Bread And Beer band. The line-up was this:
Bernie Calver-bass
Caleb Quaye-guitar
Roger Pope-drums
Reg Dwight-piano
Rolfo-percussion
Lennox-percussion
Together, this group recorded a single and an album in Feb. 1969, which was produced by Chris Thomas at the legendary EMI Studios at Abbey Road. The single was released in the UK only, in Feb. of '69. The album was planned for June of '69, but cancelled. This album was only available in acetate form for many years, this bootleg finally made these tracks available to the public.
