Description
The Buddy Holly Story. By Buddy Holly released just after his untimely death on February 3RD, 1959 at the age of 22. This is the first issue with Black and Red writing on the back. The record is VG++ and the sleeve is VG. The special thing about this particular record is that it was autographed and given to my wife Sara and me by Maria Elena Holly from her private collection. Maria Elena is a dear dear lady and remains one of my dearest friends and she is my wife, Saras', closest friend and confident. I am blessed in that she has shared all of her unpublished and todate unreleased acetate records, alternate takes, undubbed takes and hours of unreleased reel to reel recordings with me. I am always amazed that someone as gifted as Buddy was and dying at such a tender age had such a prolific recording career. This record album has two of the songs he did with a full orchestra: "Raining In My Heart" and "It Doesn't Matter Anymore" as well as two songs featuring Tommy Alsup playing lead guitar: "Heartbeat" and "It's So Easy". The better of the Buddy Holly Story records I think as it is not over dubbed by non'Holly musicians as the Buddy Holly Story Volume 2 was. This is a rare find for a true Buddy Holly collector or fanatic, or just someone like me that spent 50 years as a professional guitarist and collected records for one reason only - - to steal licks.
