Description

Precisely what any serious collector will be looking for...a pristine mono from '68. 100% complete and genuine with Ernest J Day cover and CBS inner sleeve.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) Never seen a better looking copy and is clearly low mileage. Under close inspection I couldn't make out more than a couple of very light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are pretty much silent and the audio comes across with tremendous clarity. Anyone familiar with this will be aware it is mostly acoustic low-key tracks with some have quite complex passages. The mono does a fantastic job of resolving this Byrd masterpiece. Interference is largely absent. All I could detect was a couple of isolated crackles in a couple of spots in 'Wasn't Born To Follow'..and on side 2 "O'John Robertson". The deviation in 'Dolphin Smile' - I'm detecting a touch of low-level static. Nothing remotely invasive - it just won't play as clean as the rest of the LP. Other than that I really can't recommend this copy highly enough. 
Cover (Ex/Ex+) And if the record wasn't good enough check that cover out. Never seen one like this...It really is very very new looking without the usual wear you tend to find. Front is borderline faultless with no creasing. The rear is quite frankly remarkable with a couple of super low-level surface creases. But there's barely any surface wear at all and pristine blacks. Edge wear is pretty much non-existent with sharp openings. The spine is perfect 100%. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. What a specimen!
Inner (Vg+) A two inch side split. Otherwise aok.
