Description

An original stereo 1st press of NOTORIOUS on UK CBS. Matrix A1/B1. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original E J Day cover. We also have an original CBS inner sleeve too. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) In superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of lightest marks per side, and perhaps a very superficial trail - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT of playback with one slight deviation. I tend to find sourcing Byrds records that play really well is actually harder than you might imagine. There's plenty of copies out there - I just tend to find a heck of a lot of copies do not play back all that well. With Byrds audio you really need nice clean low-mileage copies and they don't seem to turn up that often. But I REALLY like this copy. Lots of swirling acoustic numbers that will require an unusually well preserved copy to get even close to delivering a great rendition. And I'm thinking - this is probably the best copy I've witnessed. Lovely clean and really adept at resolving those complex swirling jangly moments. Very addictive! A couple of ticks as 'Dolphin' closes out.  A few crackles briefly in one isolated spot per side. Highly recommended.
Cover (Vg+) A respectable and good looking original copy. The front looks nice, but there's a couple of thumbnail creases and a small 1 inch tear at the opening [which I have tape repaired to secure]. The rear usually exhibits quite a bit of surface wear - but this example is very tidy with only light evidence. Edge wear is relatively minor. The spine is a bit dirty, but the text is 80% legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigdity.
Inner (Vg) A bit aged. No splits.
