I use the record collector grading system of Bad / Poor / Good (G) / Very Good / Excellent / Mint.
Please see below for grading details.
I also use a + or a - for grades that I consider slightly better or worse.
A VG disc on this site will not be is nasty condition like many sellers.
All records are sent out in plastic covers.
THE CARPENTERS.
OFFERING.
VERY RARE 1971 A&M LP WITH FLOWERS COVER.
This is a very rare South African pressing with a front laminated flipback cover. The cover is very wanted by Carpenters fans as it was withdrawn.
This is not a perfect example, if you need a mint copy please do NOT bid! Finding another may be hard!
The Cover / VG condition. The cover is solid with some age wear. This is a decent example with clean lamination. The back of the cover has gone a little brown over the years. This is a decent example of this very rare cover that shows its age a bit! A strong VG example.
The Record / VG- condition. The disc has a nice original gloss, I graded as VG minus / VG- due to the disc having some surface crackle and some ticks on the quite moments. The B side has a fine hairline mark that clicks on a couple of tracks. At a quick glance the LP looks better than my strict VG- grade. I know this is a rare and wanted LP so I am being fussy with my grading.
The Labels / EX+ Condition. Both labels are in great condition.

I USE THE UK GRADING SYSTEM BELOW.
Mint - as new and in perfect condition.
Excellent - A real nice example with light wear only. An EX disc will play great and the cover will be very nice too.
Very Good - The disc will have light surface wear and some light marks. The record will still play very well but may have some surface sound and a little crackle as this is graded as VG. The cover will have some creasing and storage age wear. The disc and cover will have no very serious faults. A VG disc and cover will also not be perfect!
Good / G condition - The disc will have very visible surface wear and light marks with some deeper marks. The cover will show much age wear and will not be the best example! The record will still play but will have surface sound and ticks etc.
Fair - This will be a tatty example of both disc and cover. The record will play with surface sound and noise. The cover will look tatty from age and storage wear.
Bad / Poor -This will be a badly worn example of both record and cover. The disc may jump or play with much surface sound. I would rarely sell an item like this.
