Description
The Carpenters - Offering. Rare South African 1971 pressing. AM Records AMG 2154. According to some reports, this cover was deemed controversial, which, if true, makes it all the more unusual for a country like South Africa (at the time) to release a "withdrawn" cover. Anything remotely controversial during apartheid was banned or destroyed, such as the banning of anything resembling a marijuana leaf, to public bonfires of Beatles records (after John said his thing).
Sleeve: VG+ (slight damage to bottom right-hand corner, bumped corners, no edge wear, light creases to laminate, light ring impression, sticker residue/stain to back of cover, age-related discolouration of flip-back laminate. No seam splits and spine is legible.
Media: VG+ (light sleeve scuffs/hair lines. Plays EX (apart from very light surface noise on track one, side two which does not in any way overpower. Clean, crisp labels both sides)
