Profile The album “Something’s Gotta Give” maybe sold about 200 copies, but received glowing reviews on its release in the Philadelphia Inquirer and is a great example of 1980s power pop as practiced in the Philadelphia and the northeast U.S. Produced by Jim “Jiff” Hinger (who went on to fame working with Boyz II Men), the album sounds like bands typical of the period, including the Knack, Romantics and the Jam, but with touches of Euro glam pop a la Duran Duran. Standout tracks include “Can I Touch You?” and “You and Me,” and the band was courted by RCA for a period before breaking up and disappearing into obscurity. If you love music by great lost bands a la the Remains or Auto salvage, this disc (while a bit on the preening pop side) is definitely worth your time….
