Description
This is a The Checkmates LTD. - F/S/O LP put out by Rustic Records of Hollywood California in 1974,RR 2004.I am not a fan of the goldmine record grading scale many use.I use a 10 scale. On a 10 scale the vinyl is a 9.0.It has minor noise at run in,minor noise between songs and 1 or 2 clicks overall.I am not downgrading it for minor noise at run in.Minor noise means maybe a quick light scuff sound that you will find on even new records. No noise in theory means it sounds as clean as a CD at run in and that is way rare if at all.If I were to say no noise at run in it would mean it sounds as clean as a vinyl record can sound, but you would know a CD is more clean just by the nature of being digital.Enough of that. The jacket is a 9.0.It has way minor spine wear and nothing else worth mentioning. This is world class Soul & Funk that was also the soundtrack to a Blaxploitation movie the band appeared in from 1974.The original name of the movie was the same as song 5 side 2 if I recall, though it is also known as "The Black Connection" .The Checkmates Ltd. singer Bobby Moore had a considerable role in it.Another thing I find interesting is that this was recorded at Mystic Sound Studio of Hollywood California by Doug Moody. In the 80s Moody would be known for putting out Hardcore Punk records(and not paying royalties) on his own Mystic Records label. The ruling songs are: Louie the Piper,(Ain't A) Goddamned Thang Goin On,I Must Be Dreaming,Street of Dreams,Pretty Balloons,Sexy Ways,Might Get Betta,Coming Down,Run Ni**er Run and Got To See "U" Soon.. ...............Record mailers are getting thinner and crappier these days,so I have to add cardboard to them now. This means just about every single LP is shipping at over 1 pound in weight...... .. ................ ....... .. .. I will combine shipping and ship as cheap as possible by weight.Payment via Paypal or Cashiers Check. If you buy more than one item from me I will ship everything together and base shipping charges on the weight of the total package. I will ship all over the world. Let's expand on that since ebay wants a disclaimer now on shipping out of the USA. You need to know the customs rules of your own country. You have to pay the fees, tariffs, etc if there are any when the item gets to your country. Customs forms have to be accurate as well. I will send stuff First Class at your risk, your decision. First Class is untracked and uninsured.Well,it is somewhat trackable as to where/when it leaves the USA,but things can get sketchy when trying to use tracking number in your home country. That means if the package is lost, due to there being no/minimal tracking,it is more or less impossible to find. Even more important is that there is no insurance on it,so if it is lost your refund money is lost. No refund on lost First Class packages. Think hard about shipping Priority. It is more expensive (way more in some cases),but tracked and insured. So,even if the package was lost you get your money back. You have to decide if the risk of First Class is worth the money you save on shipping. That is up to you. Media Mail in the US is $2.53US Priority is $5.80US. Canada First class is $10.55US Priority is $28.25US. UK/Europe/South America First Class is $16.75US Priority is $42.00US. Japan/Pacific Rim First Class is $16.75US Priority is $42.50US. Australia First Class is $16.75US Priority is $39.95US.Other countries of similar location will have similar shipping prices. Priority is best, tracked and insured. I repeat,First Class is at you own risk. It is untracked(minimally tracked),so if the package is lost your refund money is lost.Having said that First Class has been doing sorta OK of late. There are horror stories of lost records though. You don't want that to happen to you.Thanks.
