Description
Only ever release by UK band THE CHILDREN.
Sounds somewhere between NWOBHM and early goth.
I was originally sold this on the basis it was by Sex Gang Children band members, but I can find no evidence to support that now (there was a SGC live album called Nightlands some years later - probably a coincidence).
Two versions of this record appear on discogs.com, both promo editions with printed record middles; this one has a white centre with hand-written details.
The likelihood seems to be that the band self-financed this release.
Discogs also lists 'Demon Blues' as the A-side with 'Nightlands' as the B-Side, which is reversed by the writing on this version.
However, on the 'Nightlands' runoff of my version is etched: FAL 7 - 001 - B. *
On the 'Demon Blues' runoff of my version is etched: FAL 7 - 001 - A. *
All of which suggests discogs got it right.
Anyway, whichever way you look at it, this is a seriously rare curio from the early '80s post-punk scene.
