Description

The Church – Gold Afternoon Fix 1990 Vinyl LP Arista AL-8579

Gold Afternoon Fix is the sixth studio album by the Australian alternative rock band The Church, originally released in April 1990 through Arista Records. It is highly collectible on vinyl as it represents the last studio album featuring the band's original classic lineup, including drummer Richard Ploog.

Album Background & Trivia

  • The Standout Single: The album features the hit song "Metropolis", which achieved massive success by reaching #1 on the US Modern Rock Tracks chart.
  • Missing 12-String Sound: This is the only album by The Church that completely lacks a 12-string electric guitar. Guitarist Marty Willson-Piper's signature Rickenbacker was stolen right before recording while the band was on tour.
  • Production: The record was produced by Waddy Wachtel alongside the band, recorded at the famous Ocean Way Recording Studios in Los Angeles.
