Description
The almost mythical Fire Down Below, one of only nine extant copies in the world.
Two sided, white label test pressing for a proposed 1987 12” EP that was ultimately never released (in this form at least). Fireman and A Woman With Reason are on side A with Ariel Sings, A Minute Without You and Surrealist Woman Blues on side B. Trade catalogues at the time listed this as Fire Down Below, in the event the release was cancelled leaving behind just nine test pressings.
The songs were subsequently released on the Slow Crack album but were EQ’d differently making this the only place to get the original mixes.
There is no evidence of a sleeve being prepared - at least no drafts have ever surfaced.
The label shows that the catalogue number was originally Red 13 but this is written over as Red 15. Suspect that this represents a corrected transcription error as the matrix clearly shows this as RED 15. (RED 13 is the catalogue number for the reissue of Steve’s Asphalt Eden 45).
