Description
You are bidding on an extremely rare first pressing of The City-Now That Everything's Been Said (1969).
Although most know her by Tapestry, this is technically Carole King's first album, but with the help of bassist/second-then husband Charlie Larkey (pictured far left on cover) and guitarist Danny Kortchmar (middle on cover) this is her first taste of performing her own songs. A young Carole King is on the far right.
Brilliant songs here, such as Snow Queen, Wasn't Born to Follow, Old Sweet Roll and more are covered by many. Here's the originals!
This is the first pressing (color cover, the second pressing is black/white cover) and yellow labels. Jacket is original thick cardboard, original sleeve (still intact). Great condition, with the exception of a punch hole mark on the upper left corner. This was a detail of the few copies out in circulation.
Record is VG+, a light hairline mark here or there, doesn't really interrupt playing.
Overall, a SOLID copy of a first pressing. Own it now! If a Carole King/James Taylor/Folk fan, treat your ears to an audio rarity!
