Description

An original 1st press of LC on the UK Columbia label from 1979. Matrix A1/B1/C2/D2. Etching "Timtom" & 'Track 5 is Love In Vain' The track 'Love In Vain' was finished late in the recording process and tagged on to the end of side 4 as they went to the presses. Consequently the 1st pressings do not mention train on the cover, or on the side 4 label..But it's definitely there in the wax..! The vinyl comes housed in an original Shorewood cover. Also included are both the bespoke lyric inner sleeves. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex+/Ex+) An absolutely gorgeous slab of vinyl and has clearly only seen the lightest use. Under close inspection I struggled to make out more than a couple of very light superficial marks. Intros and inbetweens are pretty much silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. A superb rendition and one, I think, it would be very difficult to even equal. I certainly have never heard a better rendition...pretty much faultless. Interference, well I really couldn't hear anything at all. I'll do my usual catch-all...you might detect a couple of isolated crackles per disc. FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex) Often found in pretty poor condition this example majorly bucks the trend! That front cover truly is in amazing condition and has avoided the usual surface wear and creasing. The only thing I can make out is a tiny sticker removal mark in the top right corner [extremley minor]. The rear follows suit and looks great - just light handling..much much better than what usually surfaces. Edge wear is surprisingly light and the spine, unusually, is pretty much perfectly intact. Over the cover still seems to have retained it's original box structure well.
Inners (Ex) A touch of light ageing on one inner, but basically in great condition. No splits or markings.
