Description
There have been counterfeits of the Simply Vinyl Clash titles but this is a genuine copy of "The Clash", released and bought in 1999. This version contains the cool alternate US tracklist from 1979.
Differences to the 1977 UK edition: "Deny", "Cheat", "Protex Blue" and "48 Hours" were kicked out. The original "White Riot" was replaced by the rerecorded single version. Added were the following tracks: "Clash City Rockers", "Complete Control", "(White Man) In Hammersmith Palais", "I Fought the Law" and "Jail Guitar Doors" making this effectively a very nice compilation of 1977/78 Clash stuff. Which version is better? Well.... the 1977 UK original is the version intended by the band but the 1979 US edition is arguably much closer to "London Calling". At the end of the day, if you love The Clash you need both.
Like all Simply Vinyl releases this comes with polylinered innersleeve, pressed on their trademark solid, heavy 180gr Virgin vinyl. And of course in their classic, SV logo embosses pvc sleeve with two silver stickers. Made in UK.
One of SV's best releases and a very nice sounding slab of vinyl. I just can't justify having ten versions of this classic album.
Near Mint condition, handled with care.
