Produced in 1961 by the Office of Civil Defense, Complacent Americans takes the listener on a kind of "It's a Wonderful Life" journey where the narrator reflects on his past after being killed by a nuclear explosion:
"I, the complacent American, thinking that no one would ever attack an American city. And I told my friends that nuclear war would never happen...but it did. I always thought I was a good American - patriotic and civic minded. But I was wrong. I failed myself and my country."
This gem of Cold War paranoia is a must have for the serious collector. The record is pressed in red transparent vinyl and appears to be in very good shape. There is writing on the label on one side. The cover seems to be in good shape considering the age of the record. The spine of the cover is split however.
