The Contours - First I Look At The Purse/ Searching For A Girl
(Tamla Motown TMG 531 UK Demo 7" Single 1965)
This is a UK original Demo 7" single pressing. Unfortunately, this is quite a well played copy. However, playback is still very reasonable indeed. The A-side plays particularly well. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has white "Tamla Motown" Demo labels which have a large red "A" on the A-side label. The labels have a 4 pronged centre. The record has 1st press TMG 531 A-1 and TMG 531 B-1 matrix numbers. It comes with an original "Tamla Motown" company paper sleeve.

Vinyl: As stated, this is quite a well played copy. There are about 12 light, mild or very mild hairline surface marks, or hairline surface rub/ scuff marks, across the two sides. These measure from 1 cm to 4 cm in length. One of these marks, a 3 cm hairline mark at the start of the B-side, slightly feels to the touch. It causes some intermittent light or very mild clicks for a brief period (See below for a more thorough playback description). It does not jump.
There are some light, mild, very mild or more moderate surface sleeve rubs, or surface rub marks, which can only be seen under a strong light. There is a small & moderate surface rub mark, or surface scuff mark, on the A-side too. Overall, Fair++ condition. Not too far from being in Good condition. The previous owner has coloured in, with black pen, a small area of the A-side label (see photo). This is inside the top inner part of the "A". "The Contours" has been neatly underlined in black pen on the A-side label only (see photo). There is a very small & light stain on the B-side label only. Otherwise, mild or more moderate spindle wear.
. The company paper sleeve is in Very Good++ condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear & creasing. There are no seam splits.
I have fully play tested this 7" single. The A-side plays Very Good+ to Very Good++ overall. There is some light, mild, very mild or very minor crackle noticeable in some quieter places. There are no noticeable clicks or pops on the A-side. The B-side, as stated, has a 3 cm hairline mark at the start. This slightly feels to the touch. It causes some light or very mild intermittent clicks for as brief period. These are very much in the background. It does not jump. The B-side plays Good+ to Very Good overall. Overall, a very serviceable audio copy. The all important A-side plays very well.
