Description
The Cramps – Gravest Hits (1979, US Original Pressing)
Original 1979 US first pressing on Illegal/I.R.S. Records, catalogue SP-501 — identifiable by the rainbow rim labels, used only on the earliest US pressings before later reissues switched to plain silver labels (SP70501).
Compiles the band’s first two singles (“Surfin’ Bird”/“The Way I Walk” and “Human Fly”/“Domino”) plus a cover of “Lonesome Town,” recorded at Ardent Studios, Memphis in October 1977 and produced by Alex Chilton. A landmark psychobilly/garage punk release.
Tracklist:
Side 1: Human Fly / The Way I Walk / Domino
Side 2: Surfin’ Bird / Lonesome Town
Condition: VG / VG
Vinyl graded VG — a few light surface scratches, none feelable, shouldn’t affect playback beyond occasional light surface noise. Please note: Side A has a scratch in the dead wax that extends slightly onto the label edge — purely cosmetic, doesn’t touch the grooves. Sleeve shows general handling wear consistent with age (see photos).
Graded honestly — please study the photos closely as they form part of the description. Any questions before you buy, just ask.
