In Style With the Crickets is an influential rock n roll album by The Crickets. Although it was the band's first release following the departure and subsequent death of Buddy Holly, it still contains many of the band's most memorable songs and many tracks have also been featured on numerous compilations over the years. Originally released as an LP record on December 5, 1960, the album remained out of print for some time. The album includes many songs that would go on to be hits for other artists:"More Than I Can Say" made famous byBobby Vee and Leo Sayer; and “Someone, Someone”, made famous by The Tremeloes. The Bobby Fuller Four were significantly influenced by this album, having some of their greatest hits come directly from this album:"I Fought The Law and Love's Made A Fool Of You"
THE VINYL IS VERY SHINY, VG+ - UNDER BRIGHT LIGHTS THERE ARE  LIGHT HAIRLINES AND 1 FEELABLE SCRATCH ON THE VERY SHINY SURFACE AND ONLY LIGHT NEEDLE MARKS ON THE LABELS - NICELY CARED FOR ALL ORIGINAL 1ST PRESS UK LP.  PLAYS VERY STRONG, VIRGIN UK VINYL AND A HEAVY DEEP GROOVE, MAKES THIS A SUPERIOR SOUNDING RECORD. VERY LITTLE SURFACE NOISE AND THAT MAINLY AT NEEDLE DROP AND BETWEEN TRACKS - THE AFOREMENTIONED SCRATCH IS ON TRACK 4 "A SWEET LOVE" WHICH PRODUCES A LIGHT TICK BUT NOTHING TO SPOIL THE SOUND OF THE SONG

Some incredible songs on this 1967 album from composer Reid King who married the Brazilian sound with
popular music of that era to produce an album that should have really taken off then, but due to the strange
setup of Canterbury Records who were in business to lose money for a Mattel tax shelter, the album was allowed
to die on the vine by Canterbury when it started to take off with airplay and sales.  Reid King went on to become
one of the foremost composers of contemporary music for the gut-string guitar.

FINALLY ONE LAST WORD RE HAIRLINES, IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND ANY NON SEALED RECORD WITHOUT THEM, MANY HAD THEM FROM NEW. MOSTLY THEY ARE A RESULT OF STORAGE AND USE AND USUALLY HAVE LITTLE IMPACT ON THE SOUND QUALITY. THE SAME GOES FOR BACKGROUND NOISE, UNFORTUNATELY ALL RECORDS WILL HAVE SOME AND THIS VARIES AND REFLECTS THE PRESSING QUALITY. 

Most records have production marks where someone touched or moved the vinyl while it was still semi-soft.  These marks look like smudges, but are not scratches or "paper scuffs" and do not usually sound.  Untouched vinyl from newly-opened records have these marks.

How I Grade Condition Of Discs

Mint

This means I have owned it from new or purchased from a distributors warehouse, basically it means absolutely new shape, never been played or out of its dust cover. In the case of LP's, a North American album will have to be factory sealed (anyone can reseal an album!) Take Note: European and Japaneses albums were never shrink wrapped!

Note: Being mint does not guarantee it's free of pops and clicks, many pressings especially from the US were made with very poor vinyl and in a hurry which means often there are imperfections in the pressing. As a former importer, we were often given back brand new albums due to clicks heard in the playback.

Mint Minus - No such thing, it's either mint or not.

Excellent - A disc is super clean, with no visible marks

 Excellent Plus, means it's probably mint but can't be proven by me.

Excellent minus, is a disc that is excellent except it may have some markings that do not show up in the playing

VG - A disc that is STILL in good shape, WILL have some scuffs or scratches, not in excellent shape but well worth owning. VG + and ++,a disc that is that much better than VG.
