Description
A bit of a rarity here, a limited edition, 45rpm, MSD 421, green, with black flecking, vinyl recording of The Cure doing "A Forest / Another Journey By Train", on A and B sides, respectively. This is an Australia and New Zealand pressing only, manufactured by the old 7 Records Pty. Ltd., on the Stunn label, under license from 18 Age Record Co. Ltd., the Cure's own label, and comes complete with original 7 Records sleeve !
Side A starts off hissy , but plays through fine without jumps or skips, and the B Side has a few skips in it, but still plays through.
"A Forest" is universally voted one of the Cure's best ever seminal songs, from the album, "Seventeen Seconds", and was the song that really cemented their credentials, and catapulted them into the international spotlight, following "Boys Don't Cry". It was written by Robert Smith, Simon Gallup, Lol Tolhurst, and Matthieu Hartley, and produced by Robert Smith and Mike Hedges, and this version comes in at a little over five minutes. The sleeve is split at the bottom to about halfway, and worn, as shown, and the record labels, themselves, have a few minor party stains on them, but nothing too extreme.
