Description
(Sold as seen) Nicely preserved, copy of The Cure's 1980 LP release of "Boys Don't Cry".
The album is presented on the North American Records Recording label - Catalogue number is NA 024 and there is a manufactures address(in America) on the labels.
The sleeve states "Place of manufacture of record as stated on the label - Fiction Records - distributed by Polydor records in the UK" .
About the album:
The Outer Sleeve:
Remains in its original factory issue format with no writing rips or tears, bearing only the most minimal signs of ageing (please see photo's) the corners, sides and spine are all very well preserved for its age .It is in very good + order for its age.
The Inner Sleeve:
Is the factory pressed paper based insert in white and is in very good order.
The Vinyl:
Presents on both sides with a very good + clear glossy sheene.
Side One:
A close visual examination under bright lighting conditions reveals one or two very light visible hairline surface marks that are of no immediate concern to me, importantly, I have played this side and on my audio equipment the sound reproduction is of very good quality and faithful, kindly note though this can very from one turntable to another depending upon stylus quality and condition. As with any vinyl - even new one can detect the occasional crack and pop consistent with hard to detect surface marks or dust - particularly on quitter sections of the album and on intro's play off's, with the right cleaning cloth these can sometimes be eradicated. At no time on side one though is there any skipping, jumping or sticking.
Side Two:
Similarly, a close visual examination under bright lighting conditions of side two reveals one or two very light hairline surface marks that are again not of any particular concern to me, again, I have played side two and on my audio equipment the sound reproduction is of very good quality and faithful, kindly note though this can very from one turntable to another depending upon stylus quality and condition. As with any vinyl - even new one can detect the occasional crack and pop consistent with hard to detect surface marks or dust - particularly on quitter sections of the album and on intro's and play-offs- with the right cleaning cloth these can sometimes be eradicated. There is though, no skipping, jumping or sticking throughout the entire duration of side two.
Overall, and in my considered opinion, this album plays to a very good audio standard.
The record labels are in very good order.
