Description
Peer thru the mists of time into this incredible Peel session by the Cure! Track listing is: "Killing An Arab", "10:15 Saturday Night" "Fire In Cairo" and "Boys Don't Cry"- recorded December 4, 1978 and originally aired December 11, 1978 on the John Peel Show on BBC radio. The cover features a cute photo of Robert Smith (from the Head on the Door tour) and the flipside has a pic of the band with Simon Gallup (who did not play on the session as original bassist Michael Dempsey was still in the band at the time). Despite historical inaccuracies, this is a great collection of music from what would become one of the biggest bands on Earth. Were they ahead of their time? Well, Boys Don't Cry was re-released as a single in the late 80s and went to the top of the charts! Best of all, this is on gorgeous strawberry pink vinyl. It looks dark red in the photos because it's against a black background. Released by Strange Fruit in a limited edition of 2500, this is the genuine article.
