Description
Up for auction here is a test pressing of the debut LP from The Damned from 1977. The date on the label is 1-2-77. This LP is in excellent condition with just a few very very light marks. I have just played from start to finish, and sounds excellent. 2 ticks on side 1; 1 a few minutes in and the other midway through. I'd say probably dust. A little groove noise on the run in groove, but nothing between tracks. Side 2 has a little groove noise during the run in, which runs in to the bass intro of the first track, but once the drums & guitar kick in, you can't hear any background noise. A little groove noise between tracks 1 & 2, and 2 & 3. No distortion, no jumps & no warping on either side. I'd say this LP may have only been played a few times judging by it's overall condition. I think this LP could do with a pro clean though, just to remove any dust [which probably arrived when I took the LP out to photograph].
Matrix side A: G-T/P SEEZ 1 A1 & also with the letters 'EG' and 'A Porky Prime Cut' etched in the runout groove.
Matrix side B: G-T/P SEEZ 1 B1 & also with the letters 'EG' and 'The Sound is in The Plastic' etched in the runout groove.
I have only ever seen one other copy of this test pressing on eBay [2-3 years ago] and it's condition was not as good as this one, so do not miss out on the chance to own a very rare piece of vinyl.
Comes in plain white lined sleeve with LP details written on the top left corner of the sleeve, which is in a plain white windowed cardboard sleeve . I will ensure this is very well packaged for delivery. I will placed LP in very stiff mailer box with a few card dividers. This will then be sealed, bubble wrapped & placed in a larger box. I may even deliver if the winning bidder lives close enough.

I don't know how this differs, if at all, from the final commercial release, as I do not own a commercial copy of this LP. I have included 2 images showing the track layout, so you can compare to the commercial release.
