Description
The Damned – New Rose, 1976 7” Stiff BUY 6, PS.
This is a nice example of New Rose / Help by The Damned. It was released on the Stiff label in 1976 – BUY 6 – and is in EX condition. It is an original pressing with four-prong push-out centre. The picture-cover is a bit of a disaster unfortunately. (This came from a collection where most of the records were fine and most of the covers were trashed, annoyingly). Although it is complete and fairly clean there are splits on the bottom and on both sides and the top edge can only really be described as ‘tatty’ with creasing and small ‘nicks’ all the way along. It would benefit greatly from some tape repairs on the edges, although I will leave that up to the new owner. I am grading it as around F to G (but to repeat – it is complete and will not look too bad in a plastic cover).Please note that this is not the same item that I listed a couple of weeks ago. Around 30 people had that one on their Watch list so may see this one and think there was some sort of problem. There was not. The first one was paid for and went to the new owner who is happy with his purchase! Oddly, when I bought it, futher down the pile of good records in tatty covers I found another one in the same condition.
It is impossible to be an expert in all realms of collecting, and I am honestly representing this item to the best of my knowledge and ability. If the item has a fault then I have mentioned it. I ask that you read the description and examine the photos carefully. I also encourage you to ask any questions you may have during the auction to help clarify identification or condition, as I may inadvertently omit information that you as a collector feel is important.
If after you receive the item there is any problem at all please let me know BEFORE leaving feedback or leaving a low Item As Described rating. Rather than click on the See Other Items link, if you click on either the red Door symbol or the words Oldvan's Shop you will see my auction items and my Buy It Now items split into various categories which will make browsing easier! e.g. 7" single records, LP's, Books, Toys etc etc. You will not have to wade through hundreds of items that you are perhaps not interested in.
CONDITION. The majority of items that I list are between forty and sixty years old. Some are older and some may be a few years younger. I have described the condition of the item in my text but where applicable I have also ticked the 'used' box as even where an item is 'perfect', it is very old and logic says it must have been handled and probably used at some time over the decades!
ALL of my AUCTION ITEMS are now listed with basic / second class postage FREE in the UK.
They are not actually free to post of course! I have to pay to post them but for UK bidders the price you see at the end of the auction is the total price you pay.
DELIVERY TIMES. Although I have ticked the Royal Mail 2nd Class Standard option, please note that this service is reliable and often is unexpectedly fast. For the last couple of years I have actually posted lighter items first class, even though 2nd class has been paid for. Please note that from now on - due to the post office price increases, I will be sending all items 2nd class unless first class has been paid for.

Worldwide Postage / Shipping.
Upate - May 2012 - the new much-increased Royal Mail Air Mail rates have come into effect. After absorbing the costs for the last two years - this rise is so huge that I am having to increase my prices. Many apologies for this. I really am trying to keep the prices as low as possible.
TRACKING NUMBER. If an item sells for more than £35, (or for a package that has a total value of more than £35) it will need to be sent with a Tracking Number - the Royal Mail's International Signed For service. This costs an additional £5 and that price will be added so that both you - the Buyer - and myself are covered under the buyer protection policy.
PACKAGING. Please note that all of my items are well-packed in thick card or in boxes, and then wrapped in good quality brown paper. I do not make any separate charge for packaging materials - everything is included in the final price. Many of my feedback comments mention my good packaging and I will of course continue to meet my own standards.
Payment
UK WINNERS - I still accept and am very happy to receive cheques and postal orders as payment methods, as well as PayPal.
I will send an invoice to the winner soon after the auction ends. If not using PayPal, when you first email me PLEASE include your postal / shipping details.
OVERSEAS BIDDERS - Payment is to be made in GB Pounds, as the item is listed in pounds. Please use PayPal via the link on the completed auction page. If you do not use PayPal and want to mail payment you MUST contact me before bidding so so we can agree the payment method in advance.
