Pink Floyd – The Dark Side of the Moon (First UK Pressing, Solid Blue Triangle, SHVL 804 A-2/B-2, 1973)

For sale: a highly collectible original first UK pressing of Pink Floyd's iconic album „The Dark Side of the Moon”, released in 1973 by Harvest Records (SHVL 804), with the rare solid blue triangle label and original matrix numbers SHVL 804 A-2 / SHVL 804 B-2.
This is the legendary first pressing – the holy grail for Pink Floyd collectors.

Details:

  • Label: Solid blue triangle, black label, „The Gramophone Co. Ltd.” text, NO „EMI Records Ltd.”

  • Matrix/Runout:
    Side A: SHVL 804 A-2 (hand-etched)
    Side B: SHVL 804 B-2 (hand-etched)

  • Sleeve: Original UK gatefold cover by Garrod & Lofthouse.

    • Outer sleeve: shows noticeable edge and corner wear, scuffs, some discoloration due to age (see photos). Structurally sound, no major tears.

    • Gatefold (inside): very good condition, clean and vivid artwork.

  • Vinyl: Visually near mint (NM). No scratches, plays beautifully, ultra clean for its age.

  • Inserts: No posters or stickers included.

  • Inner sleeve: Original black paper sleeve.

Grading:

  • Vinyl: NM

  • Outer sleeve: G+

  • Gatefold: VG

Note regarding the track "Money":

There is no audible skip on "Money" during playback on standard equipment. However, some first pressings of this album are known to have a manufacturing flaw that may cause skipping on certain turntables. As a result, no guarantee can be made regarding playback performance on all setups.
