Description
An original 1st press of Morrison Hotel on the UK Elektra label from 1970. Matrix A1/B1. Labels are consistent with 1st press. The heavy set vinyl come housed in an original gatefold cover printed by MacNeill Press.
Vinyl (Ex+) In beautiful condition and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Quite apart from being one of my favourite albums the audio on these 1st presses are incredible - perfect clarity and transparency. Intros and inbetweens are practically silent and the even the quiet tracks play nice and clean. Interference is almost non-existent. We could only detect a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments [e.g. 1st intro] the whole way through. It's certainly a keeper and it would be nigh on impossible going any better.
Cover (Ex-) In great shape and has clearly been carefully looked after down the years. For what is a difficult to find in tip top condition front and back surfaces really are in very nice shape. The interior is immaculate. Edge wear is reasonably light and all the text is still legible on the spine. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity and lies totally flat.
