The Doors: Waiting For The Sun LP (2009 Rhino)
I purchased this in 2009 when Rhino remastered the whole Doors catalogue and reissued them on vinyl. This is the original stereo mixes remastered and cut by the legendary audio engineer Bernie Grundman (BG in the dead wax). It’s been very well looked after as part of my personal record collection and has only been played the once when I got this along with all the other Doors albums. I’m not as keen on this Doors album so I’ve reluctantly decided to sell it on now with other titles to make space for something I will listen to more frequently.
The gatefold sleeve is in lovely condition as you can see in the photos with no splits and with a sharp and clearly readable spine. There was no printed inner sleeve with this album so I transferred the record from the harsh white paper sleeve it came with to a generic white new antistatic, polylined sleeve. I’ve taken a number of photos of the sleeve and record so please take the time to scroll through them all and get a good view on the great condition of this LP.
As I said I only ever played this when I originally bought it so the vinyl is also in lovely condition with no scratches.
I would have cleaned it when I originally bought it, but I have just cleaned it again using a professional vacuum record cleaning machine with the award winning L’Art du Son cleaning fluid. It’s now dust and static free and in the best possible condition for the new owner to enjoy. I have just test played both sides all the way through and can confirm it sits perfectly flat on the deck and plays through beautifully on both sides with absolutely no skipping, sticking or jumping. It’s a fantastic sounding pressing and remaster like the rest of the catalogue that Bernie Grundman cut and plays through with barely any surface noise on my set up (Project Debut Carbon deck fitted with an Ortefon 2M Blue stylus). There is only the odd hint of a warm crackle every now and again between tracks on run ins and very quiet sections that only serves to remind you your listening to a record rather than a digital file. No annoying or distracting loud clicks and pops.
