Description

For sale I have a dark psych masterpiece, Strange Days by The Doors from 1967 in the RARE Mono version. It is said that the mono version of this album has a different mix and better in some aspects compared to the stereo version. There are definitely some small differences. A sought after album. I will try and describe the record as best as I can. I will provide detail below. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will try and respond as soon as I can.


The Doors-Strange Days

  • 1st U.S. Pressing on Tan/Brown label. (Limited run compared to Stereo version)
  • Cat# EKL-4014
  • MONO
  • Released in 1967

Cover: I will grade the cover as VG+ (Very Good Plus). The cover sleeve has some light ringwear (refer to pictures). No splits. No writing. No tape. No residue. Pretty clean sleeve. It is also the rarer MONO text sleeve.

Record: I will grade as G+(Good Plus). Visually the record has some scratches, and about 3 small deep scratches that surprisingly don't affect the audio too much. There is little to no surface noise, however there are a lot of soft crackles almost throughout the whole album, mostly side 1. The music overpowers everything. A few pops here and there, that are mostly caused by the deep scratches. They are subtle and short lasting. Overall the record sounds pretty good, despite the defects. Very punchy! It sounds almost as if the band was playing in your room, especially Morrison's voice is very present and clear. Overall a good sounding record. Definitely a decent starter copy. It also has clean labels.
