Description
Just recently I bought a massive collection of 60's and 70's LPs...some are in surprisingly immaculate condition, and some are not, but the original owner (a well-respected Australian vinyl hoarder) was a fastidious collector of the styles he loved - 60's beat/punk/garage, British invasion well-knowns [Beatles/Hollies/Dave Clark 5/Gerry & The Pacemakers/Zombies/Troggs/Rolling Stones, etc..], 70's West Coast sounds, pop-psych and he'd obviously forraged far and wide since there's a flurry of unique South American, New Zealand,Taiwanese, South African, Japanese releases amongst them all.
Here then, is one of the LPs from his collection:
"VIGIL"…their fourth full studio LP (2nd UK LP)…UK pressing…original first press…1968…STEREO!…on United Artists…turquoise and silver labels…(SULP-1193)…flipback cover…
Very first pressing with SULP 1193 A-1 / SULP 1193 B-1 matrix numbers in run-off grooves...and both sides have the stamper code 'G' (the 'G' code signifies the very first stampers used). Has KT tax code too.
condition: [cover first, then record]: VG++ / EX-...very shiny vinyl!!...would be very close to mint but for a few light marks which cause a few minor clicks'n'pops on "Sha La La"…
12 tracks, 9 are originals...different track-listing to Aussie pressing…different back cover too…part beat, part garage, part psych = brilliant!!!…
Labels are mint!...has only ONE spindle mark on one side....looks like it's barely been played....very beautiful copy!!...
