Description

An original 1st issue of OOTN on the UK Asylum label from 1975 [whilst charting]. Matrix A2/B2. Note the labels are the white earlier design - most copies will be on the Blue Asylum labels. Well worth going for the earlier copies as they are pressed way heavier. The vinyl comes housed in an original 1st issue light texture, embossed, top-loading cover. Now, there are lots of variations of these covers, but it should NOT mention a printing date of 1976 on the rear. This one mentions the original print date of July 1975 and has a double spine [correct for 1st issue]. We also have the original stiff-card shaped corner inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) In really nice condition and has only seen relatively light use. Expect a few light superficial bag-rash type markings. Nothing feelable. Nothing troublesome - and nothing that will enter the audio spectrum. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Now, first thing to mention is that finding a nice clean player of this title is actually much harder than one might imagine. Many of the white label 1st issues will not hit the mark - believe me....many! And the reason is that a lot of the audio is actually fussy lowkey - and these copies often saw heavy use. But I'm pleased to report that this copy is bucking the trend. It plays clean into the Sorcerer - this a great find...very few copies manage this. Other tricky moments like 'Waltz' & 'Thrill' play superb - very impressive. You are not gonna find a better copy - and this one hits the mark consistently. A rarity [effectively]. Highly recommended.
Cover (Ex) These original covers with embossed look awesome. Particularly if you can find a nice cared for copy. And this copy will not disappoint! I might have graded a tad higher, but there is a tiny shadow from a small sticker removed [top right on the front]. But in all other respects this cover is looking pristine. Super colour retention and no signs of wear, creasing, or ageing. Minimal edge wear - way better than you typically find. Solid openings and a 100% spine. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) Surfaces are pristine. The only issue is a two inch bottom edge split. I have tape repaired it and inked it black. As a result it is only a small cosmetic issue now.
