Description
EX/VG+ copy (cover/disc) of rare first Fugs LP on Broadside (Broadside Records 304), from 1965. Cover has some light discoloration/fading and some seam wear -- but no seam splits. The vinyl has a lot of light scratches, but a nice shine -- it doesn't sound worn. There *is* light crackle throughout, but this is generally fairly unobtrusive, except on one track, the first on side B ("How Sweet I Roamed from Field to Field"), which has a heavier scratch across it. Overall, I'd give this a conservative visual grade of VG, but aurally it's a strong VG+ and definitely an enjoyable listening experience.
The booklet is missing -- but this copy comes with a playbill (!) from an early Fugs performance that the original owner stuck in the record. This has a prominent vertical fold mark, but is otherwise in decent shape.
Musically, this proto-psych, proto-punk folk rock stew sounds amazingly modern!
