This auction is for a rare original classic LP by Carl Perkins titled “Whole Lotta Shakin’”.
This album was put out on the Columbia Records (his 1st LP) label, CL 1234 MONO in 1958.
This record is an original 1958 (1st pressing).
Columbia 6-eyed label, with “Guaranteed High Fidelity”.
Matrix #’s XLP 43875-1A & XLP 43876-1A
Record label is clean with very little wear.
The LP itself is conservatively rated at very good condition. Deep gloss, with small scratches & scuffs visible under the right lighting.
Cover listed as very good. Small area (1.5”) of splitting on bottom edge, with the “binder” side showing some chipping the entire length. Photos give you a good idea of the condition. The front & back are in very good condition, with no writing, tape or tearing.
Overall…a nice LP for the average collector. Not Mint…but not over $300 either.
