Description
The Fool S/T LP.
This is UK 1st Press on the Mercury Record label from 1969 & produced by Graham Nash. More famously know as the designers who made clothes for the Beatles & painted John Lennon's Rolls Royce & George Harrison's Mini.
Condition of the record is EXCELLENT. There's only a few very light sleeve removal marks & a couple of light stylus scratches seen under a bright light. The record labels are clean with just a few light spindle marks on each side & no writing or stickers.
The record has been cleaned on a Moth mk11 pro record cleaner & played throughout on a Project turn table.
The audio quality is VERY GOOD+. Plays really well, with depth & separation, but has some light background surface noise heard in quieter parts & 4 pops at the start of track 2 side 1. This is mainly heard due to the whimsical nature of the music & in no way intrusive to the enjoyment.
The sleeve condition is GOOD-. Unfortunately this record was a barn find & was not kept in a good environment. The sleeve is a delicate one in the best of states owing to it's thin & flexible card, but this one has got damp over a period of time & the opening edge corners are deteriorating badly. I gently clean it after finding it covered in mold & it's cleaned up quite well I think. At first glance it's fairly presentable with minor wear & handling creases, but when you look further you see the defects. As stated, the opening edge corners are deteriorating badly & there's colour & surface loss to the inside of the gatefold at bottom. The spine is flat, but fully readable & the opening edges are still fairly sharp with just a couple of bumps & hint of wear. No writing or sticker tears anywhere on the sleeve. Graded very conservatively to the Rare Record Price guide, it's still an enjoyable listen & in no way trashed!
