Description
An original 1st press of Deep Dark Blue Centre on the UK Deram label. Matrix 1W/2W. Stampers 1B/1B - under the Buckingham sequence this is effectively the 1st stamper. Please note labels are consistent with 1st issue with that all important Decca deep-groove. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in a 1st issue Clout & Baker cover. Also included is the original Decca inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In fantastic condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection we struggled to make out anything more than a couple of very faint marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are practically silent and the audio comes across with great clarity. Thankfully interference is both minor and infrequent. All we could make out was the lightest touch of static in a couple of spots on side 1 - i.e. very little. Audio quality is top-level and this is the defacto route for best audio on this benchmark jazz release.
Cover (Ex+) In great shape and there can't be too many around in this kind of condition. Beautifully clean unaged front with only two tiny creases. The rear is in well above average condition. At 51 years of age it is clean and has hardly been affected by the ageing process at all. Edge wear is super light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains amazing rigidity for what is a 50 year old fragile cover. Impressive!
