Description
The Grateful Dead were an American rock band formed in 1965. The band was known for it's unique style which fused elements of country, folk, bluegrass, blues, reggae, and rock. Live performances had lengthy instrumental jams, and their devoted fans were known as "Dead Heads". The band and it's fans (Dead Heads) are associated with the hippie movement. Workingman's Dead is their fourth album released in 1970. The title of the album comes from a Jerry Garcia comment "This album was turning into the workingman's version of the band". Much of the sound of the album was influenced by the band's friendship with Crosby, Stills, and Nash, and by the Bakersfield Sound, all while holding on to their psychedelic roots. The readers of Rolling Stones Magazine voted "Workingman's Dead" the best album of 1970. The album cover is in very good condition with the back printed upside down.
